Why you need an AVR

We have a solar system at our warehouse that (in theory) should protect us from power outages and glitches. However, It cannot protect itself from Eskom. The inverter does not like excessive mains Voltage, and alarms then shuts down if the Voltage goes over about 260V.

Sadly Eskom's power fluctuations mean that it is often as high as 290V from the local substation.

We therefore need to install an AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator) to mitigate Eskom's incompetence.

Please ensure that you have at least a one-kilogram pure Carbon Dioxide fire extinguisher close to your machine – regularly serviced, maintained and kept in good working order.
