To keep your CO2 laser tube in optimal condition, you need a chiller. Do NOT be fooled into thinking that a CW-3000 “Industrial Chiller” is actually a chiller. It is not. A chiller has a compressor – just like your fridge. The CW-3000 is a glorified water pump or circulator – albeit with a fan.

In the colder months – or if you live at one of the poles – a cooler is ok for up to a 50W tube, as it is circulating relatively cool water. As soon as you step up to the big leagues (80W or more tube), you really need a proper chiller, (like the CW or JZ 5000 range), which actually do have compressors and can reliably keep your tube at a safe operating temperature.

Our CW and JZ ranges are all legally imported with LOA (Letter of Authority) documentation from the NRCS (National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications). LOAs are required by all manufacturers and importers of commodities that fall under the scope of the compulsory specifications (VCs), before the importation and sale of the product. Be aware when purchasing a chiller that you should ask to see the LOA for the product to ensure that it is legally imported.

Don’t take a chance. The NRCS is legally empowered to confiscate electrical or electronics goods without an LOA.
