Step-by-Step Sublimation Instructions
1. Remove the Protective Film
Our sublimation wood comes with a clear plastic protective layer to prevent scratches during transport and handling. Be sure to peel this off completely before sublimating for a clean transfer surface.
2. Mirror Your Design
Unlike acrylic, you’ll need to mirror your artwork before printing. Once mirrored, place the image face-down onto the white side of the MDF wood blank.
3. Secure with Heat Tape
Use heat-resistant transfer tape to hold the image securely in place. This helps prevent shifting during pressing, which can cause ghosting or blurring.
4. Set Your Heat Press
Recommended settings:

Temperature: 180°C

Time: 80 seconds

Pressure: Heavy or tight pressure to ensure even coverage across the surface. If you seem to be getting ghosting in the middle, it could be that you're pressure is not high enough.
⚠️ Note: These settings worked best with our in-house equipment. Always test based on your machine, paper, and ink for the best results.
5. Press and Peel
Once pressed, carefully remove the transfer paper to reveal a bright, bold, high-definition print. There’s no need to cool the wood under weight—our MDF holds shape well without warping.
